Trace elemental analysis of blood serum samples of patients afflicted with parkinson��?s disease

Abstract

Trace elemental analysis was carried out in the blood samples of patients afflicted with Parkinson’s disease and controls using ICP-MS technique. 23 elements over a wide Z range from Li to Pb were detected and their concentrations determined. These concentrations levels are analyzed to find a possible correlation between the levels of some of these trace elements in the diseased and the pathology of the disease.
